Founded in 1854 by Eugène Raspail, the estate has remained in family hands and is currently managed by Dominique Ay alongside his children, Christophe and Anne-Sophie. The family winery is situated at the foot of the dramatic Dentelles de Montmirail limestone peaks in the commune of Gigondas. It's a single 19-hectare (approx. 47 acres) contiguous parcel sitting on rugged clay and limestone terraces.
Year to year the blend changes, however it's typically composed of roughly 70% to 80% Grenache, 15% to 20% Syrah, and 5% to 10% Mourvèdre. Full-bodied and structured, offering aromas of red raspberries, black cherries, black pepper, licorice, and savory herbs.
