100% Albarossa
Born in Piedmont from a cross between Barbera and Nebbiolo, two pillars of the region’s winemaking, Albarossa spent decades quietly waiting in the wings. Created in 1938 by Professor Giovanni Dalmasso, it was designed to unite Barbera’s vibrancy and resilience with the structure and aging potential of Nebbiolo (specifically Nebbiolo di Dronero, also known as Chatus). After years of careful study and clonal selection, the standout “xv/31” clone emerged, ultimately earning the name Albarossa in 1977 as a nod to the city of Alba. Today, it stands as a compelling expression of modern Piedmont, where tradition meets a refined, contemporary elegance.
