Alois Cunto

Largely unknown but an intriguing indigenous grape Pallagrello Nero and difficult to compare with other red grape varietals.  Powerful, eye-opening for the curious. 

Needs air time, 20 minutes or decant.

The nose leads with sweet aromas of strawberry and coffee creamer, then turns earthy and herbaceous. On the palate, a dash of salt and pepper unifies the sweet and the savory, while the tannins and acid enliven, rather than overwhelm, that pleasing tension.
