Easy Appetizer coming your way! This little one bite is party perfect and doesn't take much time at all. Prepare them before, and pop in the oven right before your guests arrive! I like to use Deglet dates for this because they are slightly smaller than Medjool and a tad bit less sweet. Perfect for just popping the whole thing right in your mouth!
Creamy and savory whipped Chévre incased in a sweet date. Salty Prosciutto wrapped around like a tiny little food gift. Delicious Cranberry Pear Balsamic Drizzle as the bow on top! Perfect appetizer for these little Spring gatherings.
Preheat oven to 350º. Slice dates open just on one side. Lightly pull them open without breaking them apart. They should look like mini hotdog buns. In a mixer, mix the Chèvre cheese, EVOO, and thyme until creamy and smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Place cheese mixture into a pastry bag and pipe into the opened dates. Slice/cut prosciutto pieces in half lengthwise and wrap each date in a prosciutto piece. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 3 minutes or until Prosciutto is crispy on top. In an Air Fryer, preheat air fryer for 2 minutes at 350º, then bake for 2 minutes. Immediately place on a serving platter. Drizzle with Cranberry Pear Balsamic Vinegar and sprinkle toasted pecan chunks on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Recipe Note
Pairs well with Sparkling Wines, Pinot Noir, or Beaujolais/Gamay.
